About Library 

The College Library started its functioning in the year 1950. The then Prime Minister of India, Pandit Jawahar lal Nehru donated first five books to the Library. The college library has a collection of approx 60000 books.The College Library has three main divisions including:

  1.  Central library, which is located in the first floor of the main building of the college Library. It comprises of - English section ,Reference section, General science section , Urdu section, Hindi section , History section and Kashmiri Section. The main library has a separate browsing facility for students and faculty.
  2. Reading room Arts: The college has a separate library for humanities. It comprises of the books pertaining to- Arabic, islamic studies, Music, Political science, Sociology, Geography, Economics, Psychology, Philosophy, Public Administration etc.
  3. Reading room Science: As separate reading room for science and technology was inaugurated by then Minister Higher Education, Mr. Mohamad Akbar Lone on 27th April, 2013. It has the collection of books pertaining to Computer science, Bio-technology, Bio-Informatics, Industrial chemistry, Bio Chemistry, home science, Physical education, Human development, Journalism and Mass communication, Information Technology, Electronics and Bio formatics.

The Library has subscribed to N-LIST database of INFLIBNET which is an initiative of Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) and is giving access to around 6,000+ Journals and 31,35,000 e-books especially meant for Colleges. The college Library has also registered itself to National Digital Library of India (NDL) an open access platform for e-books and e-journals, video lectures etc.

The library has a collection of around 1400 books (pre 1952 publication, rare and copyright free) which have been digitized in year 2014 by Allama Iqbal Library , university of Kashmir in collaboration with national Digital library of India.
